Well, AGAIN, nothing is happening, nothing is changing. The animals are being abused by the inmates, the sheriff's department is covering their butts, and the volunteers are eating verbal and some physical abuse by some of the kennel staff.
Will it ever end. We see live rodents running through the animal food. We see the inmates thinking it is funny throwing the live rodents at the animals - the cats and dogs. Leaving the live rodents in food bowls, and telling the volunteers that Ronnie, one of the Kennel Staff personnel said it was OK.
This is NOT the first time, and YES the DIRECTOR KNOWS ABOUT IT AND HAS KNOWN ABOUT IT. The volunteers are talking AND reporting TO THE director and sheriff department, and it is still going on.
But of course during all of this the poor office staff was EXPOSED to asbestos! YEP, who knows how many of the volunteers were exposed, but of course lets not talk about the animals.
ASBESTOS has been found while doing an office remodel. Then I wonder if there were any positive test results for HANTA Virus too?

Not only does the manager-vet? not care about the health of the animals, he does not care about the health of the volunteers, his staff or the public coming into the facility. He is just a maniac and doesn't care!

I left here for Africa with a slight cough. It grew worse while there. I was at this shelter when the asbestos mess happened. I saw a toxic waste dumpster - red and marked "asbestos". I saw prisoners dumping pieces of ceiling into it. These prisoners did not have any breathing protection. I have been putting off a visit to the doctor as I am in denial. I am only 38 years old and would hate to think that I could be dying from inhalation of asbestos fibers.

If there is asbestos involved then there are other public agencies that you can file a complaint too and they would investigate because they are not part of that system. Do some research and try to get them to go in on this info. Vector Control usually handles the Hanta virus and you need to file a complaint there as well. Just make sure you talk in terms of it affecting people, not animals.
