Banks of cat cages have been slowly but surely disappearing from the Shelter. The decrease in cat accommodations must be about 40 to 50 cages approximately. That is a death sentence for cats when there is no room. A Rescue Group has made tremendous strides in getting the cats designated as feral out the door. This group is spaying and neutering and then placing cats on ranches and farms. Euthanasia rate for ferals has dropped due to this group's efforts. These cages that were removed could accommodate small cats and kittens.
What is scary now is the fact that the Animal Shelter Director can use lack of space as a reason to euthanize. Someone at the Shelter must have an accurate count of how many cages have been removed. They are replacing the cages with big cages to accommodate fewer cats. So we have fewer cages and have lost space for 40 to 50 cats.

Here we go again, killing is an easy option. The cages were removed so there would be a space issue, then once again, let the killing begin. If it wasn't for those poor cats and kittens, the manager wouldn't even have his HIGH paying job. There is only ONE person to blame for this horror and that is the manager, who sits in his office all day and listens to classical music, while the killing is taking place by people who are not trained to do so. So very sick is this situation! HE NEEDS TO GO ASAP FOR THE ANIMALS SAKE.

Been out of the country for a couple months. Not able to keep up on this animal shelter. I am shocked to hear what is happening. Did some checking and those cages are being stored at Woods Humane Society which is next door to this shelter. Those cages are county property and we wonder if they were given to Woods or are just being hidden away there so that animal shelter can claim "no room at the Inn". What is this about cats dying in their cages? Something has to be done about this place.
