A friend of mine volunteers at this place. He said that healthy cats are being found dead in their cages. Why doesn't the person in charge get a vet to do a necropsy? They need to determine why these animals are dying. On this website I read about "asbestos" contamination. Might be that this is what is causing these cats to die. A necropsy would show if they had plaque in their lungs which indicates "asbestosis". If this is happening to the cats, what is happening to all the other liveing creatures? Maybe the dogs, volunteers, employees and customers need to worrY. Who ever runs that place, needs to chek as a friend of mine who is a vet - said that this is a good possibility.

Now it's really scary out there. Heard that more cats were found dead. Also heard that they are still taking in cats. I don't think that anymore cats should go in there until they get to the bottom of what is killing cats. Get a vet in there to check up and get to the bottom of this. I have a friend who wanted to adopt a cat she saw at the DAS webpage. But she is afraid to go in. She called to see if they were still letting people in and they said sure, no problem. I told her what I had heard. Don't these animals get vet care when they are in a place like this. What is happing there doen'st sound write.

The Director of this Shelter is a veterinarian. I understand that he is paid extra bucks for being vet. He should be taking care of the cats medically and also he should get to the cause of these deaths. He should do several necropsies. And he should notify the public through the press - papers - tv- radio as to the problems. Get this man off his dead butt and out of his plush soundproof office. Make him earn his money. Disgusting to think he is hiding away and letting animals suffer and die without care. Maybe it is something preventable. JUST DON'T LET ANIMALS DIE THIS WAY.
